A blog about Cowboy Music, Western Swing and Cowboy Poetry. 2014 WMA Radio DJ/Radio Program of the Year

Delk BandThis band and this CD mean so much to me and bring back so many memories! I spent a great deal of my life in the Bootheel of New Mexico in my growing up years. The high light of the month was the country dance, held either at the Animas American Legion Hall or the old Hachita School Gym. One of my favorite bands at that time was Forrest Delk and The Gulley Jumpers! Well, the music goes on in the 2nd and 3rd generations of Delks. For the last many years, Joe, Mark, Neal and Bryon Delk have carried on the family legacy…and done it well! “Music For Those That Come To Dance” has 17 cuts and you’ll want to dance to each and every one of them! From “Corrina, Corrina” to “Because He Lives” there is not one song you won’t love!

Joe Delk on fiddle; Neal Delk, guitar and vocals; Mark Delk, drums and vocals; and Bryon Delk on bass guitar are joined by Dee Ford, fiddle; Roy Garcia, pedal steel guitar; Ty Martin, piano; Chek Rippee, fiddle and Jim Tomlinson, pedal steel guitar. Talented musicians, talented singers and great Western Swing Music! How can you beat that???
