Music in the Park
The Friends of Rockhound State Park “Music in the Park” series
continues this month with “New Mexico’s
Most Enchanting Cowboy,” Mike Moutoux.
Please mark your calendars for this upcoming event and remember that it
is free and open to the public.
Our evening of music is set for Saturday, July 16th,
from 6 to 8 PM at the Group Shelter in the park.
Mike Moutoux’s website includes the following…Mike has been performing cowboy poetry and music since 2002 and is an audience favorite wherever he goes. Calling himself, “New Mexico’s Most Enchanting Cowboy” he strives to take his listeners to places and feelings they may not get to any other way. “I want to put them as close to being in the saddle as words and music allow—and at the same time leave ‘em laughing.” he says. In 2006, Mike was nominated for “Cowboy Poet of the Year” with the Western Music Association and performed at their festival in Albuquerque. In 2007, his latest CD, Headin’ Home was nominated for “Cowboy Poetry CD” of the Year.
