R.W. Hampton’s music achieves airplay success in Europe
Dear Totsie,
Just thought you might like to know that R.W. Hampton is enjoying some interesting success with his music at European country radio.
This week we released R.W.’s recent Wrangler-award-winning song Shortgrass to 600 European country show programmers and journalists through the UK-based Hotdisc compilation CD service: the song debuted at #4 on the Hotdisc Top 40 Country chart in this first week of release.
Shortgrass is R.W.’s seventh consecutive single release to break into the Hotdisc Top 40 Country chart’s Top Ten since we first started releasing his music to European radio in 2008.
Three of the seven have become #1 chart hits for R.W.: We’ve Taken Bob Back To Tulsa from Oklahoma… Where The West Remains, and Cowboy’s Prayer and Driftin’ Again from his current Austin To Boston CD.
Cowboy’s Prayer topped the chart for three weeks in August, 2010; Driftin’ Again stayed at #1 for an amazing eight weeks this past fall, the most weeks at the top of the chart by any artist in 2010. Hotdisc subsequently named Driftin’ Again the Most Popular Song of 2010: it’s interesting to see a cowboy artist singing a Western swing tune achieve this level of recognition on a country chart on another continent!
Congratulations, R.W.!
And thank you, Totsie, for your support of R.W. and his music here in America.
Best regards,
Brian
